- The name of my townland is Tullintowel. Some say the meaning of the name is the little proud hill while others say it means the hills and the three hollows. There is about two hundred and forty acres of land in it and twelve families. The family name most common is Gallagher. The houses are mostly thatched.There are two or three very old people living in the townland. There are the ruins of three old houses in the townland. In recent times a number of the young people left the district and went to work in England and America. The land is fairly good in parts. In Tullintowel there is a lonely tree and the old people say that there the fairies live. There is one of(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
