    pointed it at him. Bernard thought that the case was a revolver and he left back the gun. Without anymore arguing he gave John half a crown. John was delighted at the success of the trick he and played and left the house. Just as he was going out the door he threw the pipe case on the floor and said "you can keep the revolver if you would like to have it.
    On another occasion himself and two other companions joined together and purchased half a pint of whiskey and sweeten it and they brought it to John's house to do so. When they arrived John said he would be cook. They decided to play a game of cards until the whiskey would be warm. John used to go to the fire very often to see if the whiskey was warm and every time he used to go he took a spoonful. This kept going on for a long time and when it was warm his companions had not a spoonful to get.
