    When hunting animals away:-
    "Shge" is said to geese. "Slacha" to ducks. "Scearch" to hens.
    "Wo" or "Pru" is said to make a horse or ass stand.
    When putting down eggs for hatching, it is the custom, if possible to put them down on Good Friday. They are marked with soot or polish so that they can be known from other eggs. They are put into a box or a straw nest or a pot which is not being used, under a clocking hen. When the young birds come out, they are fed with a mixture of oaten meal and water. When the goslings come out first, a green sod is brought in to pick, untillthey are able to go out. All the young fowl have to be watched carefully after coming out because the magpie and weasel are very active at this time. Paint is put on the back of each of the fowl's heads because the
