  1. Local Fairs
The fairs in Eyrecourt are held in the street.
There is no toll paid on cattle sold.
When an animal is sold there is luck-money given. This money is called a luck-penny.
A bargain is made by striking hands, and, unfortunately, by going into a public-house and having a drink.
When an animal is sold it is marked with raddle and sometimes with mud on the flank.
The halter or rope is kept when an animal is sold.
There is a fair in Eyrecourt every month. Each fair falls on a different date. There is a special fair held every Wednesday for the sale of pigs. The October and November fairs are the most important.
