  1. (continued from previous page)
    Cut them for woe,
    Cut them on Thursday,
    A jurney to go,
    Cut them on Friday,
    Cut them for crosses
    Cut them on Saturday,
    Cut them for losses,
    Cut them on Sunday,
    Cut them for evil,
    And all the week through,
You'll be ruled by the devil.
If you let your glove fall, and if you pick it up it is a disappointment for you.
If you sew on a Sunday you will have to rip it on Monday when you die.
    Married in Lent.
    You'll live to repent.
If you break a cup or anything you will break three things within a week.
If your eye brows meet it is supposed to be a sign of deceit.
It is bad luck if a hare runs along your path.
If you spill salt you will have a row with someone int he house.
If your are fond of looking at your self in the mirrow, you will see the devil looking over your shoulder someday.
