  1. There is one forge and smith in a village near us called Lecarrow. His name is Michael Sheridan. His forefathers had the forge before him. He went to America when he was young and returned home four years ago. He rebuilt the forge in 1935. The smiths make farm instruments such as gates, ploughs, harrows and many other instruments. The implements he uses are tongs, hammer, plyers, rasp and pincers. He uses the hammer for hammering the nails into the horses’ hoofs, the tongs for holding the red iron, the plyers for drawing nails, and the rasp for filing off the hoof.
    One day a man came in arguing with his father and his father told him to take the sledge and give a few blows to a horse shoe. The man did as he was told but when he was going to leave down the sledge he could not because it was
