  1. There are two smiths in this parish, namely Mike Gallagher and Robert Robb. Gallagher's forge is situated in Moness, which is about two miles from St. Johnston and the other is in Churchtown, which is between Dooish Hill and Carrigans.
    Robert Robb's father and his grandfather were smiths. Gallagher's forge is made of stone with a slated roof. Robb's is made of wood and is tarred. The doors are a rectangular shape.
