  1. Most of the people around here get married after the Derry "Rabble", which is held in the 12th of May. Some of them get married on Easter Monday.
    The people of this parish are very superstitious about the kind of dress the bride wears. They say it is not lucky to get married in satin because it resembles the name of the devil. There is a rhyme about the dresses which are lucky and unlucky for the bride to wear. This is it.

    Not fit to be seen
    Married in white
    You're married all right
    Married in pink
    Your love it will sink
    Married in grey
    You'll live far away
    Married in red
    Your love won't be dead
    Married in beige
    Your husband will rage.
