    as they called him, went over to Scotland with his men and their Battle Axes and their drums and war horses to help the King against the English King.
    In the Battle, Murragh Meyer Mac Swine killed an English Lord with his own hand from whom he took a Gold Cross and chain from off his neck and many other Ornaments also. These he took back to Donegal and they were kept in the Church of Clondavadock until it was burned. Then all these things were lost.
    Whenever their Chief wanted his men he would blow a horn or light a big fire. Then all the men would come the next morning with their battle Axes because they nearly all fought with them that time.
    The Mac Swines were called the Mac Swines of the Battle Axes because they fought with Battle Axes.
