- Macamish Tower is built on a little bank going out in Lough Swilly. It is a round tower. It was built more than a hundred years ago. The British built it to keep the French out of Lough Swilly. There is an old bridge going out to it.During the great war the English had wires across from the tower to Innishowen to keep out the Germans. Some pieces of the wire are still to be seen.
