    was taken carefully off, and folded or rolled up.
    It was then put on a part of a spinning wheel called a 'rock' which was made of fine rods, and resembled a cage.
    This woman spun it into fine thread, and the servants spun the coarser and rougher fibre. It was then sent to her brother, a weaver, who lived in a place called Glenmaquin near Raphoe. He wove it on a hand loom in his own home.
    These webs of linen which were one hundred yards in length, were taken to Derry and the fine stuff was sold for twenty one guineas per web, and the coarser at fifteen guineas.
