  1. There is a large stone about a quarter of a mile up the Workhouse road. This stone is split in two and lies in a very large field.
It is said that in olden times a giant threw a stone from Dartry and wanted it to fall on Ballyshannon (then a village). He missed his aim and the stone landed in a field. The giant in a rage flung his sword at the stone and split it in two.
