  1. (a) For the mumps they put the halter of a donkey around their neck and walked to the nearest well for three nights.
    (b) For the Toothache they used to walk around a pump four times in their bare feet.
    (c) For the headache they used let a cow breathe on them for ten minutes, and they used walk around a tree four times for two nights.
    (d) For the measels they went to the nearest holy well, dipped their hands and feet in one and immediately were cured. It is said that most of these cures came true more than once.
