- The best-known traveller around Ballyshannon is a man called Bob Devit. His “territory” includes North Leitrim, South Donegal and South West Donegal. He makes his living by selling bottles of ink, flypaper, spoons, etc. which he keeps in a bag. Some people buy things off him especially the country people. The town people hardly ever buy things off him but they give him pennies. He sleeps in barns and buys most of his food but begs a little. It is said that he keeps ten-shilling notes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
