The ruins of these girls' home are still to be seen in the townland of Carrowskeheen beside a running stream of water.
These girls were first cousins of my grandfather, and they soon emigrated to America.
This story was related by my grandfather John Bourke, to the writer Ita Corcoran.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
