    certain day of the year the day before Ash Wednesday.
    They used make it of flour. Then they used put soda through the flour and then they put milk in it and a "pinch"of salt.
    Then they used knead it and then put it down to bake on the pan and no lid on the pan.
    They used to turn it very often. The boxty and potatoe cake are still made by the people of the locality.
    Long ago they used have a currant cake on Christmas night, very glad they used to be to get it, and a cup of tea.
