  1. Long ago the people had not as much flour as they have now, therefore bread was different.
    They used to make boxty, potato cake and oat meal cake which is very hard.
    They used to make boxty of raw potatoes.
    They used peel the potatoes first and then grate them.
    Then they used squeeze the water of them.
    Then they used put them into a basin, and put the soda in it and milk and kned it.
    Next they put it down in a pan to bake.
    They used to make potato cake of boiled potatoes.
    They used "pound" the potatoes with the bottom of saucepan.
