The gentleman answering him back told him to watch the cow until she would calf and to make sure to bring him the first of her milk without tasting it.Brian watched the cow until she calved, then took a cast to milk her. He milked until the can flowed over. He thought it a pity to see the can flowing over so he rubbed his finger on the top of the can and put it into his mouth.He returned to the gentleman with the can. He asked him had he tasted it, and he said "When the can flowed over I rubbed my finger of the can and put it to my lips."The gentleman hearing this grew very angry and ordered him away. From the time he tasted the milk he became a prophet. Brian Rhua was no scholar. He dictated the prophesy to his son to write it in a book. The son thought what his father was telling him could not be. He told him the news of the world go on the top of the poles. He told him the road would be made of meal.(continues on next page)
