  1. One night about twenty years ago a man was returning from a cart-party at about two o'clock at night. On his way home he had to pass by a lake and a little river.
    This river separates Fauleighter and Kildrea, and the lake is a short distance from the river.
    When this man was coming home he was very frightened. After crossing the river, and when passing the lake, two very tall men came out of it, and looked as if they had been swimming. The man stood for a few minutes to watch them. Soon afterwards they started to box and run round the lake. The man began
