  1. There is a valley in Esker about a quarter of a mile from Kilkelly known as the valley of the "Black Pig". People who pass this way at night see this pig.
    One night a dentist who was leaving Kilkelly and motoring to Ballghadreen saw the pig. He could not go any further. The cold sweat ran down his face, and he was very frightened and after some time he drove back again to Kilkelly and stayed there for the night.
