    Pat Mangan is and was the best turf cutter in the district. He used to cut one perch and a half and sometimes two in the day.
    One day Tom Brazel and my father went out to pick potatoes about eight o'clock in the morning. They picked potatoes until five or half five and they picked ten drills between them. The drills were forty perches long and they were turned up with a plough as well so they had to scratch the clay to find all the potatoes.
