  1. There are few customs connected with St Peter and Saint Paul's evening. Many of these old customs are dying out. It is customary for the young people of this locality to assemble at the local cross-roads. There they light a big fire. This fire is called a "Bon Fire". The young children gather bundles of sticks to support the fire.
When a sufficient amount of sticks is collected, they light the Bon Fire. The fire usually consists of sticks and some turf. When the fire is lighted the young people commence dancing round the fire. Then they sing and play music.
When they are tired of these amusements they sit round the fire and tell stories. When the fun is over and the crowd are dispersing it is customary for each person to throw a burning stick into the nearest meadow.
