There are three or four old ruins in this district. In Barrleyfield theres one of an old mill. Long ago when it was in use meal was made in it from oats and wheat. There are six storeys in it, one is under the ground, and the other are built up high. There are about sixteen or eighteen small windows on the front wall, and one gablend is covered with ivy,
There are ruins of an old chapel in Urney graveyard in Dungooley, and it is believed that it was one of St. Patrick's
In "Castletown Mount" there are ruins of a castle where Cuchullian was crowned on it, and he was born just beside this "Mount", and it is built up on very high ground.
Another ruined castle is situated in Castleroche, though there is not a big portion of it in ruins, long ago Lord Roche and his wife dwelt there. It is built up on very high ground.
