  1. There are a few old roads in this district, namely, the Church road, so called because, there is an old Protestant Church built alongside of it. The Forkhill road is so called because it leads to Forkhill from Kilcurry. It is an old military road, and was made (from) for Cromwell and his army when they came to Ireland, but it is still used, because it is repaired every year. It is straight from Dundalk to Forkhill a distance of five miles, and it crosses many very large and steep hills.
There are two or three mass- paths in this district. One leads to Forkhill road from the Roskeagh road, and another leads to Kilcurry crossroads from the same road as the other. There is an old road in Balregan. It runs beside the river, and it is used by farmers going and coming from the mill. It also leads to a farmer’s house.
