The thistle is a plant which spreads rapidly. It is cut down by the people. Its roots spread many yards away. It improves the soil. The people use nettles for feeding turkeys and chickens. The nettle and the thistle grow about a foot high. No flowers grow on them.
In former times the old people used to cut up thistles for donkeys.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
