    The following poem was composed about 80 years ago about A Regatta held in Berehaven. A boat from Crookhaven pulled in the Regatta and won the race. It is supposed to have been composed by the Berehaven school Master

    And soon the Berehaveners astern did go
    As they were mistaken by the lads from Crookhaven
    For they were the boys that could
