- Bird Lore. 14-6-'38
The birds which are most common in this district are the swallow, the thrush, the blackbird, the robin, the wren and the pigeon. The linnet is occasionaly seen.
Swallows are the most plentiful of our summer birds. They build their nests inside the roofs of barns and beneath the caves of houses.
The thrush usually builds its nest in a low bush. The blackbird chooses a similar place in which to build its home. Unlike the thrush or blackbird the robin builds its nest high up.- Bailitheoir
