    Crowds of young men and very often young girls dress themselves in the most funny fantastic fashion and travel the countryside on January the 31st seeking for money. They bring the effigy of St Bridget into each house and demand money. With this mean collection they buy intoxicating drink and spend a whole night drinking and dancing. People should cease contributions, if they do so the "Biddy" balls will cease.
