  1. There once lived a man in Lissnaguiha whose name was Seán an Leasa,
    There was a fort in his farm which he was very anxious to till.
    Although his neighbours told him he was doing wrong he took his horses and plough and set to work.
    He ploughed the fort and when the days work was over he went home and stabled his horses.
    The following morning when he got up he went to his stable and found one of his horses dead.
    This did not stop him; he set to work next day with his spade and began to dig down by the side of the fort stone and there unearthed a large coffin.
    He lifted the stone lid off the coffin and ther found the limbs of an old giant.
    His shin-bones were three feet long.
    He dug up the coffin and under it found a gold sword, a gold shield and a gold dagger.
    He took them home and cleaned and brightned them and hug them on the wall.
    Jack said to himself that he was not fully armed yet so the next day he went to work beneath the stone and there he hound a gold coat of mail which he took home.
    Next day he put on the coat of mail and helmet.
    He took his dagger and shield and went to the forth andcalled on the man who killed his horse to come forth, and out jumped a famous warrior from a cave underneath
