Nearly every house in the country long ago was made of sods. The names of the people who lived in our district were the Mc Glones the Currys the Bradys and the Coogans. Long ago the men used flint stones to light their pipes. They made a kind of paper and whenever any light went near the paper it would go on fire. They would get two flint stones and rub them against each other The flint stones would make a flash of light and it would light the paper.
- Slows is a plant that grows in a ditch. First you gather some slows, then you wash them. Get a big bottle of clean luke warm water and put some slows in the bottle Bury the bottle in the ground for a week. Then take it up and the wine will be pink.
