- In former times the old people had a great belief in cures. They never went to doctors except in a real case of necessity. Nowadays, the people have no belief in cures. When they find anything wrong with them the first thing they do is to go to the doctor to see what is wrong with them, and to get cured of whatever is the matter. There were many cures in former times and here are some of them.
The cure for the whooping cough is a charity which is got from three different houses, when the wife's maiden name is the same as her marriage name. The person that is ill is to use the charities.
The cure for the measles is to boil nettles and drink the soup of them, and give plenty(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
