  1. The name of the townland in which I live in is Corderryduff. It is about a mile and a half from the town of Castleblayney. The parish is Clontibret, and it is in the barony of Cremorne. The townland is not too large but it is fairly well populated. There are nine houses and families in the townland, and thirty seven people. There are two thatched houses and seven slated houses.
    In the townland there are only a few old people over seventy years of age, but they cannot speak Irish. They can tell stories in English but they cannot tell them in Irish.
    Houses were much more numerous in former times. The old walls can be seen to the present day. There are not many houses now in ruins. They are nearly all newly built.
