- Weather Lore.
The farmers of my district have a lot of old signs as regards the weather.
When there is a blue sky it is a sign of good weather. When sparks fall from the stars it is a sign of storm. When the new moon lies on its back it is a sign of bad weather. A rainbow is a sign of rain.
If the sun setting in the evening is red it is a sign of good weather.
When the wind is blowing from the west it is a bad outlook. The South-East wind brings the most rain to my district.
When the crows are in the air and dive towards the earth it is a sign of a coming gale.
When the weather is going to be bad the birds keep close to the farm houses so that they can get whatever food is cast out.
When the weather is going to be good the birds fly high up in the air and they sign with delight. We will have bad(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
