  1. There is the ruins of an old school house and an old church in my district. The church was built by a man named Owen who was the son of a great chief who once lived in Kilmacowen.
The old church which is about two hundred years old is built in a graveyard. It is in ruins now and nothing can be seen but some of the walls.
The school house is about a hundred years built and its well some of the people of the parish remember getting slaps from the master.
The school is still standing with its slated roof but it is nearly all ruined. The walls are all holes and places where the doors and windows were are all broken up. At night one door seems like a man and some of the local lads who were passing thought it was a ghost that was standing against the wall.
There are many other old ruins of houses in my townland. Everybody in my locality knows the above story and facts.
