- There was two tramps one time and they were walking on the road, and one of them went into a house begging, and the other sat down on the side of the road and took off his shirt and starting looking on it. And after a time a priest came along."What are you looking for my good fellow" "I am looking for grouse on my shirt" "That's a horrible thing to be doing along the road." "Well heres five shillings and buy a new shirt and let me never see you do that again." "Alright Father ", and the priest went on his way he put on his shirt and waited for the other tramp. When the other tramp came back he told him what the priest had given him and how he got it. And what did he do only run through fields and bogs and got out before the priest on the road and took off his shirt and started looking on it. "What are you doing my good man" "Looking for grouse" "Well" said the priest, "there is a man there beyond throwing them away. So that's all he got for his trouble.

- This young lad lived in a backward place he saw noboday nor he knew nobody, it happened that here was to be a station in his house and all the people gathered in but there was no sign of the priest coming and they sent the young lad out to the road to see was he coming and there was no sign of him so he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
