  1. 1. The cuckoo comes in April,
    She sings her song in May,
    In the middle of June
    She changes her tune
    Then she flies away.
    2. If the cuckoo sits on a bare thorn,
    You may sell your cow and buy corn.
    3. A wet May and a dry June
    Makes the farmer whistle a merry tune.
    4. If it rains and sun shining
    children say - Sunshine shower
    Wont last a half-an-hour.
    5. If a child comes late for school they say -
    The diller, the doller
    The twelve o'clock scholar.
    6. If they see some magpies they say
    One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a wedding
    And four for a boy.
    7. If one threatens to tell on another he says -
