  1. Once upon a time there was a man whose wife had died and a woman also who had lost her husband. These two, had each a daughter. The two maidens were friendly with each other and used to walk together. One day the queen told the mans daughter to ask her father would he marry again. She told her every morning she would wash in milk and drink wine but her daughter wash in water and drink water. The girl went home and told her father. The father said, marrige is a comfort but so also is it a torment but I dont like marrying the second time. He drew of his boot which had a hole in the sole. He then called his daughter and told her to fill it with water. He said if the boat should leak the water he wouldnt marry again, but if it should overflow he again take a wife. The girl did as her father told her. But the water drew the hole together and overflowed. She went in and told
