  1. Balinderry is situated north- east of the town of Moate. It is a small townsland with two or three houses in it. It is about one mile from the parish of Rosemount. There are very few inhabitants in Ballinderry. In the year 1934 an Engineer from America came to dig the bog of Ballinderry. There is a lake in Ballinderry in which it was said that treasure was hidden. Many of the men around there were employed at the digging. the Engineer discovered a sword, a boat and some bones. He said he would come again to dig some other place.
