  1. Not far from my home in the parish of Kill and the barony of Kilcumreagh there is a hill called Kilmurragh. Long ago in the penal times the priests read Mass there. The people came miles to hear Mass there. There were never captured. There was an old bush on the hill called the "Mass Bush," but it rotted away long ago. Now on the top of the hill in its place, there stands a big black wooden cross. It was put there by the people of the vicinity in remembrance of the original bush.
