  1. A Landlord
    The Landlord of Kilfoylan Mr Andrew Bermingham was a very popular man. He was a Protestant and by marriage he became a convert to the Catholic Church.In or about 1882 he gave a big reduction to his tenants to enable them to live as at that time the land was £2 per acre. He owned a very big Estate one in Kilfoylan and another in Roscommon. He attended very large Parnellite meetings which were held in the town of Moate and Clara.
