  1. In the olden time at a wake twelve men would read prayers over the dead person all night.
    All the men were given clay pipes and tobacco to smoke and given to the women to snuff.
    The men were given wine and whiskey to drink and the women were given tea & biscuits before twelve o'clock.
    When a person died the clock is stopped.
    When the funeral were leaving the houses the chairs and the stools were turned up side down.
    The coffin was placed out side the door
