  1. Ringworm is a very common skin disease in this parish. Fortunately a parishioner has the true cure for it. Doctors try curing it but it very often comes on again the following year. The local cure, however, kills the disease outright.
    The cure consists of a small piece of ointment applied by means of a match, to prevent putting on too much - made from herbs mixed with lard or any kind of fat.
