  1. During the Penal Times in Ireland a great deal of land was taken from the Irish Catholics in this district and given to English Protestants.
    About 1800 a road was made through this land from the main Delvin road to Edmontown. This road was made by poor starving Irish Catholics. They received 6d per day as wages and a little three - quart can of yellow meal. Beside this land, is a ranch which is called Turin. A Mass
