  1. About a quarter of a mile from the present chapel of Killoolagh there is an old ruins. Old people say that it is the ruins of a Monastery. It was built on a hill. How long since it had been built is not known. It is said that a community of "White Friars" lived there.
It is said that Cromwell's soldiers fired shots at the bell in Killoolagh and that it flew to this Monastery.
