  1. An old Robert Bingham who lived in Collon 20 years ago told of and showed a Tree on the road near Mt. Oriel which was blown down the night of the "Big Wind in 1839".
    He and two others put it standing and replanted it. It grew and flourished.
    It is an Oak Tree and at present about 3 tons in weight.
    Local people call it "The Proud Tree".
