    "Baddie". When a cock crows at an unusual hour he is supposed to be warding off danger. march cocks being supposed to have a special gift in that way. A man who lived alone and who made pets of his hens and cocks died suddenly. After his death the cock refused to eat and died within a few days. He was Patrick Hunt of Kilmaley.
