    When new houses are built and the tenents are going into them it is an old custom for the people to bring a sod of turf or a block and to roll it in the door before they come in themselves. It is said that you will never be withouth a fire in the house if this is done.

    If you have a blood-poisened finger...

    if you have a blood-poisoned finger and it is trobbing very quick it is said that if you put it in a pan of hot water it will ease the pain and draw the poisen until it is yellow and formed as a drop.
