In the New Road at Tipperary a man heard a terrible noise at midnight.

In the New Road at Tipperary a man heard a terrible noise at midnight. Going out he saw a man with a chain round the leg of a dead horse and pulling it along behind him.
"What are you doing me poor man"? he asked.
"I am doing penance for me sins" he said
"What sins did you commit"? asked the man.
"I got four pints of stout from that shop over there without paying for them" said the dead man."Go back t your grave and I'll pay for the stout" said the other man.
Next day he paid for the stout and he never heard noise since.
