    path leading from the same townsland-Borrisna to the Church at Clonakenny; this passes through the school playground.
    A third mass path - and this is supposed to be very old leads from the bog cross on the Roscrea Templemore road to the Clonakenny bog, and then through a very large field known as the castle park, and leads on tot he road near the Church. The two last-named paths are still used.
    I heard this story about the "wood" cross which was specially noted for cardplaying. One night a man, who was very fond of cards, was passing this cross, when suddenly a "black man" appeared before him. (who) He had a small table and a "deck" of cards. He asked the man if he would care for a game; the man was delighted, and the game began. After some time a card fell, and the man stooped to pick it up. Then he saw the black man had a "cloven foot" and he knew it was the devil, with whom he was playing. He jumped up and ran home.
