    Áth'n t-Sléibhe
    Ann san a bhí an áth do b'fearr ar abhainn na Gáile. Is tríd san do ghaibh Pelham a bhóthar ag dul d'ionnsuighe Caisleáin Puirt dó, sa bhl 1580

    Gortnagcros
    Field of the Crosses. Local tradition says that there was a battle fought there.
    Crosses were erected over the graves of people killed in the battle, hence the name.
    No tradition of the period in which the battle was fought.

    Old Mill
    About 200 yrs ago there was a flourishing tucking mill on the bank of the river Galey and the place is still called the "Old Mill".

    Glinn a' Góbhar
    Local pronunciation of Gleann-a'-Ghabhair - a townland in the locality

    Cnoc a t-Seana Bhealaigh
    So called because an ancient road led to the river Galey.
    There is a large double-ring fort in the farm of John D. Danaher in Cnoc-a-t-Seana Bhealaigh
